The school has a well stocked library with large collection of books on all subjects like English, Hindi, Maths, Science and Social Science. Several story books, novels and self learning books have also been kept for students to use. The library is a home of encylopedias and reference material. Up to two books are issued in a week. Loss of a book is made up by payment of the cost price of the book.

RULES FOR THE LIBRARY

  1. The Library is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Students of Classes IV and above must use the recess and their assigned library periods for reading books and magazines and avail the extensive and up-to date reference facilities. The Librarian is available at all the times to answer queries and cater to the information needs and requirements of the staff and students.
  2. Students are expected to behave in a responsible manner within the library premises and in its vicinity. Anyone guilty of disobedience to the Librarian or of disorderly conduct renders himself/herself liable to suspension from the use of the library.
  3. The procedure for borrowing the books for home reading is as follows:
    1. A student may borrow one book at a time for a period of one week and is solely and entirely responsible for the care and condition of the book borrowed in his/her name.
    2. The name of the borrower and title of the book must be duly registered on the book card and borrower’s card respectively and both must tally with the date of return marked on the date slip before the books can be taken out of the library.
    3. The attention of the librarian must be immediately drawn to any book that an intending borrower finds damaged, disfigured or mutilated.
    4. A book may not be kept beyond a week, if a book is not in demand and there are no pending requests or reservations, it may be re- issued for another week by the same borrower.
    5. If a student fails to return the books borrowed by him at the end of the week, a fine of ` 5 /- per day is levied for the time the book is overdue and each day the fine remains unpaid.
    6. A student who loses or damages a book or magazine will have to replace it or bear the cost of replacement of the same book. The fine due will be charged until the book is replaced.
    7. All books must be returned two weeks before the beginning of each terminal examination. A borrower who fails to do so will be fined until the book is returned.
    8. Reference books and magazines are only for reading in the library and cannot be issued.
  4. In their choice and requisition of books for reading, students can avail themselves of the guidance and good - will of the Librarian and their teachers.
  5. 1. Book once issued will not be re-issued on the same day. It can be issued as per the availability after a week.

N. B.: Students of Classes Nursery to Class III use their Class Library and Activity Room under the guidance of the Librarian and their class teacher.

Donate a book : This programme provides an opportunity for parents, staff and friends to donate a book to the school Library. Books may be presented in honors of birthdays or other special occasions. Please contact the Librarian and participate in this programme.
